Myanmar: Cyclone Nargis in Google Earth

The Cyclone Nargis ha colpito con violenza il Myanmar nei giorni scorsi, causando vastissime inondazioni, togliendo la vita a migliaia di persone e lasciandone moltissime altre disperse o senza casa.

Già molte persone e organizzazini sono al lavoro per aiutare la popolazione del Myanmar, incluso l' UNOSAT ( UN Institute for Training and Research Operational Satellite Applications Programme ).

L' UNOSAT è un ente che regolarmente pubblica mappe in caso di calamità .

Quindi loro hanno i dati relativi al percorso del Ciclone Nargis e all'estensione delle inondazioni.

La novità di oggi è che questi dati sono ora disponibili anche in un apposito layer di Google Earth :

e sono pertanto consultabili anche dai tanti non addetti ai lavori che desiderano rendersi conto di cosa stia succedendo.
