In India il poema epico o comunque l’opera più grandiosa è senza dubbio il Mahabharata, che in quanto a numero di versi potrebbe valere ben più che la somma di tutti quei poemi. Anche se è vero che l’arte non si misura in quantità di strofe, questo dimostra almeno la grandiosità dell’opera.
